A BRIEF HISTORY OF
ANTONIO A. MACEDA INTEGRATTED SCHOOL

The present ANTONIO A. MACEDA INTEGRATED SCHOOL had a colorful history. It started from humble beginnings until it metamorphosed into its present status. It is situated on an 8,958 square meter lot at the corner of Manga Avenue and Buenos Aires St., Sta. Mesa, Manila. The site according to old timer and old neighbors of the place was formerly the graveyard for Spaniards and Filipino – Spanish resident of Manila at the turn of the 20th century. It was named CASA BLANCA or “White House” and became the favorite watering hole of the rich and famous Spaniards and mestizos because of its invigorating climate picturesque. It had a swimming pool, bowling lanes, casino and studded by an array of tropical flowers and narra trees. During world war II, the place was used as garrison by the Japanese soldiers.
